Row. Run. Ride

Having done two extremely long walks, Andy and I sat down to create something WAY out of my comfort zone! This new challenge will push all to their extremes! Behold, THE TRIDENT CHALLENGE!

This takes place over three consecutive weekends and comprises of a 50km row, a 100km bike ride and a 10km run. This is to tie in with my first challenge in 2013 in which I covered the same distance by walking from Brighton pier to Southend pier.

Saturday 12th September - 50km row
Saturday 19th September - 100km bike ride
Saturday 26th September - 10km run

Do one, two or even all three!

NAME - Oliver Smith

Seeing a loved one cope with cancer is never an easy thing. Seeing your hero going through cancer is an undeniably horrid thing. So it was particularly tough seeing my dad with cancer. This was the man who bought me my first CD (Pearl Jam – Ten, since as you ask), the man who bought me my first guitar, leant me his jumper when I was cold and only last year let me borrow his van for a road trip. As a family we came closer together and we did what we could to relieve his pain and anguish. We made sure he never got too down about the situation and were always there for a laugh, a cry or a bit of quiet company. My dad pulled through, and every year I get to spend with him I’ll do something to try and help others have more time with their hero too.

THE CHARITY

Macmillan Cancer Support

To give this challenge a point I will be taking on this craziness in aid of Macmillan Cancer support. One in three people, myself included, has come into contact with Cancer in some way, so it means a lot to me to raise a bit of awareness (and hopefully lots of cash) for such a worthy cause at a fantastic charity.Macmillan offer support to families and sufferers of cancer in so many ways it's hard to list them all, but their heart and dedication to fighting this battle can continue to change so many lives if we can support them
