CHALLENGE #12
10,000ft SKY DIVE (10.11.2013) - CHALLENGE COMPLETED

THE CHALLENGE

Sky Diving Challengers

Vicky Maberley - Andy Connolly - Phil Vanier - Kate Graham

Sky Diving for Other C12 Charities
Sarah Connolly (MS Society UK)

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” — Helen Keller

This was the quote I kept in mind the first time I skydived. I will never forget the feeling of standing at the edge of the doorway, the world laid out 10,000 feet below me and then leaning forward and letting go!
That image will be forever etched in my mind. It was like nothing I had ever done before and when the opportunity came up to skydive for Cancer Research and Challenge12, I ‘jumped’ at the chance (sorry…couldn’t help myself!)

THE CHALLENGER

NAME - Vicky Maberley

My mother, Cheryl, spent 6 long years fighting cancer before losing her battle on 6th March 2011. She was a very strong, caring person whose sense of humour and support to those around her endured to the very end and we are all a little poorer without her. She felt passionate about supporting Cancer Research in order to prevent other families losing their loved ones and I am truly committed to supporting them in her memory.

THE CHARITY

Most people will know of Cancer Research and will perhaps have supported them in the past. Although they are one of the larger charities, it is vital they continue to receive much needed funding. The work they have undertaken has helped to double cancer survival rates in the last 40 years. With more than a 1 in 3 chance that we will develop cancer at some stage, they are striving to ensure no one’s life is cut short by this devastating disease. Each year they come closer to the goal of finding cures through targeted treatments and early detection.

I ask that you join me and fight alongside Cancer Research: To save lives; to add years; to make treatments kinder; to inform, prevent; to expel fear and to cure. The only ones fighting over 200 cancers – including the 1 that matters most to you.
