CHALLENGE #7
THUNDER RUN (27.07.2013) - CHALLENGE COMPLETED
THE CHARITYThe Diamond Centre, a stables, is a charity soley commited to helping disabled people learn to ride horses. Diamond has a fantastic team of dedicated staff, and lots of voluntary helpers.
Diamond welcomes people with different disabilities, and are able to work with individuals to progress their riding skills. Horse riding brings such joy to riders and their familes, for some it provides a different environment, a chance to use and build their muscles, feel in control of their bodies and the horse and have a lot of fun. Some of the riders are able to progress their skills by taking tests and exams, which gives them goals to work towards. There is a large waiting list for riders, and some familes travel a long way to have lessons. The Diamond requires about £500,000 per year to maintain the centre, the horses and all the facilities. Any money that you donate will greatly help many people, thank you. |
